Prague consortium meeting: New step for BECA

On 26 and 27 September 2013 the 7th BECA consortium meeting took place in Prague (Czech Republic). In regard of the upcoming project finalisation, the partners used the meeting to complete the final tasks.

BECA at French congress for social housing in Lille

The French social housing federation (USH) congress took place from the 24 to 26 September 2013 in Lille. The annual event outlines current and future trends in the social housing sector. This year, BECA and other smart metering projects were among the main topics of the congress.

BECA presented during the e3SoHo final event in Brussels

The European project e3SoHo invited BECA among other representatives of European projects to share achievements on the final e3SoHo event on 18 September 2013 in Brussels.

BECA presented at the ICT for energy efficiency in residential buildings congress

From 22 to 23 May 2013, the participants of the 3e-Houses Project organised an international congress related to energy efficiency in buildings and cities in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Barcelona. The BECA project was presented during the Congress as an innovative solutions to improve the energy efficiency of the buildings, along with projects 3eHouses, eSESH, SHOWE-IT, SmartSpaces and green@hospital.

Good practices on individual metering spreads amongst Swedish Housing Companies

Recruiting tenants: Good practices from pilot sites

March 2013|With the BECA system fully operational in all pilot sites, the tenants have become an integral part of the project. The involvement of the tenants represents a key driver in the success of the project with partners paying special attention to this issue.

Second review meeting for BECA

February 2013|On 29 January 2013, the second review meeting of the BECA project took place in Turin. In this frame, the progress of the project during 2012 was presented to the commission. All deliverables in the work packages WP3, WP4, WP5, WP7 and WP8 have been accepted. Details for each WP can be found here.

February 2013|A BECA conference was held in Darmstadt on 31 January 2013 to promote communication and exchange of ideas and experience about energy savings through communication-technology in housing buildings in Germany and Austria.

December 2012|On 31 January 2013, a BECA conference on energy savings in the building stock using ICT will be held in Darmstadt. During the workshop, German and Austrian experts will present progress reports on European funded projects in which tenants apply web-based services for a more efficient energy use.

Tip of the month for Catalans tenants

November 2012|The Spanish partners have decided to provide their tenants with a monthly paper-based report of their energy consumption and energy tips.

November: Start of BECA pilot operation

November 2012|Early November set the beginning of the heating period, which is a crucial moment for partners. The energy efficiency services conceived and implemented during the first project phase will be used by tenants.

Belgrade meeting on Serbian national news

September 2012| The meeting in Belgrade focused on user recruitment, evaluation and viability assessment. During the meeting the consortium visited the headquarters of BeoElek, with over 300.000 customers and 820MW one of the largest district heating providers in Europe. The consortium was followed by camera team visiting one of the pilot buildings in the East of Belgrade.

6 September 2012 | The 18 European partners of the BECA project met on the 6th and 7th of September 2012 in Belgrade. Now that the project has reached its half-way point, it is time to look back at what has already been achieved and look forward for the steps to come.

23 March 2012 | The French members of eSESH, BECA and E3SoHo projects organized a workshop on 2nd and 3rd of February 2012 in Angers, France. This workshop aimed to present the results of the first ICT experiments in Social Housing sector in order to help responsibles in their questioning on the development of tenant services and the implementation of energy strategy.
